The Addison Academic Center was in need of a major renovation to update aging systems and modernize the building to meet 21st-century student learning styles to support both on-campus and digital learning.
The project features multi-purpose meeting and event spaces, offices, flexible classroom spaces, nursery, and a café for the campus and community.
2RW conducted a comprehensive systems assessment to determine the renovation impact to the existing MEP/FP systems and developed system recommendations. 2RW provided subsequent MEP/FP design for:
The new HVAC system, connected to the central campus utilities, improves the building efficiency, thermal comfort, and reliability while simplifying maintenance.

Originally an HVAC modernization, the project required disruption to areas throughout the building interior to access the systems. 2RW and the design team used this as an opportunity to modernize the interior to better suit the needs of the VTS.
