UVA enrollment growth and housing applications illustrated the need to increase the current upper-class housing inventory. In response, 2RW participated in a master plan for Brandon Avenue, developed to ensure that the redevelopment zone and the planned projects provide maximum long-term value to the University. The Brandon Avenue Upper Class Student Housing Building is the first building to be designed under the new Master Plan Guidelines. The apartments are not typical dorms but more like apartments—single bedrooms in four-bedroom units with shared living spaces, including a full kitchen—comparable to the off-grounds market.
