Project Goals
The Arcola Volunteer Fire Department has undergone several additions and renovations over the years. As the community continued to grow, Company 9 moved to a new, larger facility. For this project, the original station was converted to a support facility to meet the Station’s goals of providing prompt, professional, and compassionate response. The renovated facility will accommodate additional equipment; provide training, educational, and community space; and bring the facility into compliance with ADA requirements.
Results
The renovation provides the volunteer fire department with:
- A more-comfortable environment for occupants
- ADA compliance
- An HVAC system that adapts to building usage and meets the Station’s energy-efficiency requirements and budget
- Better support for large community gathering
