2RW joined the project team, faculty, and staff last week for a Topping Off Ceremony to watch as the ceremonial last steel beam was placed on UVA’s Virginia Guesthouses building. It’s a time-honored tradition in commercial steel construction to have an official observance celebrating the completion of the building’s framing. The milestone was commemorated by having the steel erection crew, construction team, designers, and owners sign the beam for posterity.

The eight-level, 223,000 SF hotel includes 215 guest rooms and a parking garage. The project also features public areas, including conference and meeting spaces, a visitor center, a restaurant, retail space, and a business center. Virginia Guesthouses is scheduled to be completed in the Summer of 2025.

We are thrilled to collaborate with the Tenberke and Hanbury team on this landmark project.
