The project is generally described as work necessary to separate from other spaces, in as much as possible, the MPE systems that serve the condominium space to be occupied by the University of Virginia Health System.

Project Goals

2RW completed a feasibility study for alternative heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for a medical office building located in the Forest Lakes Development in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Services

The feasibility study included an economic analysis of four systems; vertical bore and lake-loop geothermal water source heat pumps, conventional four-pipe heating and chilled water system, and split system air-to-air heat pumps. A complete life-cycle cost (LCC) analysis was completed using the procedures published by the U.S. Department of Energy and software developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
