Frederick County Middle School was recently awarded a Grand Prize in Learning by Design’s 2017 Architectural Awards Showcase, marking it one of the nation’s best educational design and construction projects. The school was heralded as “an aspirational student-centric vision that balances the need for a practical, affordable, sustainable solution,” organized around the themes of learning, sustainability, and wellness.
2RW provided energy modeling and sustainable MEP design—including a hybrid geothermal HVAC system—to support the school’s vision.
