But, if you’re curious and love to play with data, the Energy Information Administration’s Hourly Electric Grid Monitor can get you one step closer. With the Grid Monitor, you can view real-time data and analyze current and past energy usage trends for the whole country or specific regions and utilities. A recent Yale Climate Connections’ article provided some interesting energy “snapshots” from this data, including some initial data indicating that coronavirus restrictions are beginning to impact electricity usage nationwide.
