The University of Virginia has officially opened the new Virginia Guesthouse, a transformative addition to Grounds that expands hospitality, lodging, and conference space for patients, families, visitors, and the broader University community. Designed to support UVA Health, academic collaboration, and visitor engagement, the new facility represents a significant investment in comfort, convenience, and long-term campus infrastructure.
2RW was proud to provide MEP/FP engineering services for this important project in collaboration with the design team. Located adjacent to the Emmet/Ivy corridor and UVA Health facilities, the Virginia Guesthouse was designed to create a welcoming, hotel-style environment that supports a wide range of users, from patients and their families to visiting faculty, researchers, alumni, and event attendees. The new facility includes guest rooms, conference and meeting spaces, dining and hospitality amenities, and operational support areas, all designed to deliver a high-quality experience while integrating seamlessly into the character and vision of the University.
2RW was proud to support the project by providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services in collaboration with the design team. As with many projects at UVA, careful coordination with existing campus infrastructure and University standards was an important part of the project’s success.
The Virginia Guesthouse reflects UVA’s continued investment in creating welcoming, thoughtfully designed spaces that support patients, families, visitors, and the broader University community.
The opening of the Virginia Guesthouse marks another milestone in UVA’s continued investment in creating spaces that support health, education, research, and community connection. 2RW is honored to have contributed to a project that will serve visitors to the University for years to come.
