Exciting progress is underway at JMU’s iconic 1939 Carrier Library renovation and expansion. Construction has reached the halfway mark toward substantial completion in December 2025. At that point, finishing touches and move-in preparations will begin, leading to the library’s grand reopening in fall 2026. Equipment is now in place to enable temperature conditioning, a critical step in paving the way for these final phases.
By fall 2026, the transformed Carrier Library will open to the public as an innovation, research, and learning hub, blending modern, technology-rich spaces with its historic charm.
