A New Chapter for Lovettsville Fire and Rescue Station 12

The new Lovettsville Fire and Rescue Station 12 is ready to support first responders, with staff moving in next month! Replacing the original 1974 building, this modern facility addresses critical deficiencies and enhances the operational effectiveness of the Fire and Rescue System.

2RW provided MEP/FP engineering for the station, incorporating energy-efficient and sustainable features, including:

  • Zoned HVAC systems for energy efficiency
  • High-efficiency HVAC and radiant heating systems
  • A photovoltaic (PV) array
  • Ventilation heat recovery and optimized building envelope

The design prioritizes occupant safety through strategic layouts that minimize contamination risks and targets LEED v4 Silver certification, incorporating WELL Building strategies for health and wellness.

With a projected 25% reduction in energy use and costs, this facility ensures efficient, safe, and sustainable operations for first responders working around the clock.
