40 Years of Purpose, Partnership, and Progress

This year marks 2RW’s 40th anniversary, a milestone that reflects four decades of purposeful design, sustainable growth, and lasting partnerships across the Mid-Atlantic.

Founded in 1985 by Bob Crowell and Bob Somers, 2RW was built on a simple yet powerful idea: that engineering should be right-sized, responsive to client needs, budgets, and community goals. That philosophy has guided our firm ever since, shaping how we approach each project and partnership.

Today, principals Brandon Wilson, PE; Lucas Hoffmann, PE, LEED AP BD+C; Matthew Lewis, PE; and Neal Cramer, PE continue to lead 2RW with that same purpose-driven vision. Under their leadership, our team remains focused on delivering energy-efficient and resilient solutions that enhance the communities we serve, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

“Reaching 40 years is both humbling and inspiring,” said Lucas Hoffmann, PE, co-owner of 2RW. “It reminds us that growth happens through trust; built project by project, relationship by relationship.”

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re deeply grateful to our clients, partners, and colleagues who have shaped our journey and shared in our success. The next chapter of 2RW’s story will continue to build on this foundation of purpose, partnership, and progress.
