Services

2RW provided M&V and energy study services, including:

  • Developed performance verification plan based upon international performance measurement & merification protocol (IPMVP) methodology.
  • Developed chiller performance baseline through analysis of data collected from the existing chiller plant. Data collected and analyzed using MVpro software developed by 2RW’s Zappling division.
  • Identified 51 monitoring points for post-construction data collection which documented performance parameters for chillers (electric and absorption), steam boilers, cooling towers, pumps, and chilled water loops to and from the hospital.
  • Collected data through the Building Automation System (BAS).
  • Collected and relayed interval data to an off-site database every 15 minutes.
  • Coordinated and commissioned the performance verification system to ensure it met design intent and was installed properly.
  • Analyzed and compared data to baseline to determine energy and operating cost savings and identify equipment malfunctions as evidenced by operating performance changes.
Results

After two years of operation, the chiller plant upgrades exceeded original energy savings projections.
