The mission of the Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center is to be a “hands-on center focusing on the historic expedition as a gateway for learning about exploration, transportation, the arts, science, the natural environment, and native cultures”. The center—housing exhibit space, a library, kitchen, and administrative offices—is located on the banks of the Rivanna River in Darden Towe Park offering stunning views of the river.
This project showcases sustainable architectural, landscaping, and engineering design strategies as a teaching opportunity. 2RW provided the following specifications for the MEP systems as part of this design/build project.
