VCU’s Basketball Development Center was designed to provide state-of-the-art facilities in one building for both its men’s and women’s basketball programs and to bolster its recruiting and player/team development efforts.
2RW teamed with the prime contractor to complete a significant portion of the engineering design during the pursuit of this design-build project. The team was subsequently hired to complete the project.

The principles of sustainable design guided every aspect of this project. Innovative building systems, storm water/wastewater management systems, and design strategies were promoted to the maximum extent possible to attain the goal of LEED Gold certification.
