Virginia Theological Seminary Renovation Showcases Antiquities, Adds Modern Amenities

A recent renovation converted the Seminary’s historic Bicentennial Hall into flexible meeting space that showcases two carved stone relief panels—a 3,000-year-old original and a replica—from an ancient Assyrian temple. The design team and exhibit professionals introduced 21st-century museum standards for preservation, comfort, and energy efficiency without compromising the historic fabric of the building.
