Representatives of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation and 2RW were on hand November 14 at the Virginia Energy Efficiency Council (VAEEC) 2019 Fall Forum. They accepted an award recognizing Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello for the energy savings delivered through extensive energy efficiency upgrades and a new geothermal-electric plant constructed as part of the Monticello Mountaintop Project. The project took first place in the Commercial category.
Accepting the award were Liz Russell, the Thomas Jefferson Foundation’s Assistant Director of Facilities, and Peter Mackey, 2RW’s Director of Mechanical Engineering. The award was presented by John Morrill, VAEEC Vice Chair and Energy Manager for Arlington County, Virginia. Congratulations to the entire design team for its vision, dedication, and collaboration which brought sustainable energy strategies to this World Heritage site!
