As an element of the Atlanta’s Sustainable Atlanta Initiative, MARTA (Atlanta’s public transit division) focused on implementing energy and water conservation measures that would reduce both utility costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
2RW provided sustainability planning and web services to assist in the development of the program. As a portion of the sustainability master plan, 2RW implemented an awareness program for MARTA employees and users. System facility energy and water conservation assessments were developed for the highest energy-using facilities. In addition, 2RW developed technical specifications related to a Solar Photovoltaic Array, which was funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
