2RW was selected by the State of Delaware, Department of Administrative Services, to conduct comprehensive energy audits of selected state facilities; to develop an Energy Savings Marketing Plan for Delaware State Government; and to develop and deliver energy awareness training to state government personnel.
2RW engineers conducted comprehensive energy audits of five buildings (500,000 square feet), identified by the Department of Administrative Services to produce recommendations for energy savings opportunities. Once the audits had been conducted, a written report of recommendations on system upgrades, the amount of savings and a return on investment was presented. This information was used to determine effective energy upgrades in other buildings with similar energy using systems.
In addition, 2RW developed an Energy Savings Marketing Plan to increase energy awareness within Delaware State Government. The implementation of this plan has ultimately lead to an increase in the efficient use of energy resources, and reduced energy bills.
In an effort to tie this Energy Savings initiative together 2rw professionals developed and presented three “Train the Trainer” seminars to selected state employees. The goal of this training was to increase employee’s energy awareness and to ensure that the audience was not only informed and knowledgeable about energy conservation practices, but also enthusiastic about the benefits of planning and implementing energy conservation strategies in their facilities.
